CLEVELAND — The Pittsburgh Steelers held a 13-9 lead over the Cleveland Browns after three quarters of play and made the advantage hold up on a last-second Hail Mary pass in the East end zone at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Kicker Phil Dawson made his third field goal of the game — this one from 49 yards — and drew the Browns to within four points of the Steelers with 1:59 remaining in the third quarter.

On the fourth play of the drive, quarterback Seneca Wallace helped set up the field goal with a 20-yard rush from Pittsburgh’s 44-yard line on first-and-10.

Isaac Redman’s seven-yard touchdown run gave the Steelers a 13-6 lead over the Browns with 5:27 remaining in the third quarter.

Redman’s touchdown was his third of the season and helped the Steelers finish a six-play, 43-yard drive which the defense set up.

The Browns faced a third-and-two from their own 42-yard line and Wallace dropped back to pass. Wallace threw the ball to the right of the formation, but Steelers safety Troy Polamalu collected the interception.

Shaun Suisham’s 19-yard field goal cut the Browns’ lead to 6-3 over the Steelers at the end of the first half of play.

Suisham capped off a nine-play, 71-yard drive with the field goal.

Dawson extended Cleveland’s lead to 6-0 over the Steelers with 1:06 remaining in the first half.

Dawson finished an eight-play, 40-yard drive with the 45-yard field goal. The 45-yarder was Dawson’s 275th career field goal.

Earlier in the first half, Dawson gave the Browns a 3-0 lead over the Steelers on a 26-yard field goal with 6:03 left on the second quarter clock.

Dawson kicked the field goal after Wallace’s pass to wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi fell incomplete on third-and-goal from the eight-yard line.

Wallace had the longest play of the drive, a 27-yard run on third-and-two from Pittsburgh’s 31-yard line. After dropping back to pass, Wallace felt the pressure, stepped up in the pocket and outran several Steelers before being tripped up at Pittsburgh’s four-yard line.

The Steelers faced a second-and-five from the Browns’ 37-yard line at the start of the second quarter. They drove down to the Cleveland 14-yard line, but the Browns defense tightened up and prevented their AFC North Division rivals from getting on the scoreboard.

On third-and-five from the 14-yard line, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was forced out of the pocket and rolled to his right, but rookie defensive end Jabaal Sheard was able to track him down and registered a sack for a 13-yard loss. Kicker Shaun Suisham then hooked a 45-yard field goal attempt wide left.

The Steelers and Browns remained scoreless with less than 10 minutes left in the second quarter.

The two teams played to a scoreless tie in the first quarter of play.

CLEVELAND — Shaun Suisham’s 29-yard field goal brought the Pittsburgh Steelers into a 6-6 tie with the Cleveland Browns with 9:43 remaining in the third quarter of play from Cleveland Brown Stadium.

Suisham’s second field goal of the game came at the end of a 13-play, 66-yard drive which took 5:17 off the third quarter clock.
