EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The Cleveland Browns held a 3-0 lead over the New York Jets after the first quarter of play from MetLife Stadium.

Cleveland kicker Billy Cundiff gave the Browns a 3-0 lead over the Jets with a 27-yard field goal with 6:30 to play in the first quarter. Cundiff converted the attempt to cap off a 13-play drive that covered 34 yards in 5:31.

The Browns took possession of the ball at New York’s 43-yard line after safety Josh Bush’s pass on a fake punt attempt sailed incomplete when cornerback Isaiah Trufant slipped on the turf and fell before having a chance to square up and catch the pass.

In the first quarter, quarterback Jason Campbell completed six of 12 attempts for 56 yards, with a long throw of 24 yards to wide receiver Josh Gordon.
