Cleveland kicker Phil Dawson converted a 23-yard field goal attempt and drew the Browns to within four points of the Kansas City Chiefs, at 7-3, with 3:53 remaining in the first quarter of play from Cleveland Browns Stadium.
The kick, which capped off an 11-play, 76-yard drive, was Dawson’s 300th career field goal. He is the 25th kicker in NFL history to reach the 300-field goal plateau and is 300 of 357 in his career (84.0 percent).
Dawson is the second-leading scorer in Browns history with 1,247 points and has the highest field-goal percentage of any kicker in team history. He has the seventh-best percentage in NFL history among those kickers with a minimum of 100 made field goals.
