OAKLAND — Cleveland Browns kicker Phil Dawson converted a 41-yard field goal attempt and gave the team a 3-0 lead over the Oakland Raiders with 12:59 remaining in the second quarter of play from the O.co Coliseum.

With the kick, Dawson broke his own team record for the most consecutive field goals made. He has converted 28 straight field goals, dating back to the end of the 2011 regular season. Dawson’s previous career best streak came over the 2003-04 seasons.

He has now converted 298 career field goal attempts and is the sixth-most accurate kicker in NFL history among those with a minimum of 100 makes (84.1 percent).
