With two touchdowns in the first quarter, the Baltimore Ravens built a 14-9 lead over the Cleveland Browns after the first half of play from Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Cleveland kicker Phil Dawson converted his third field goal of the second quarter and drew the Browns to within a score of the Ravens, 14-9, with three second left in the first half. Dawson’s attempt finished a one-minute drive that traveled 50 yards in seven plays.
Earlier in the quarter, Dawson converted a 28-yard field goal attempt and cut the Baltimore lead to 14-6 with 1:47 left to play in the first half. The Browns’ 10-play, 76-yard scoring drive lasted for more than four minutes.
On the Browns’ previous possession, Dawson kicked a 32-yard field goal and cut the Baltimore advantage to 14-3 at the 9:19 mark of the second quarter. Dawson capped off a 12-play, 66-yard drive that took 5:42 off the game clock.
Two rushing touchdowns allowed the Ravens to build a 14-0 lead over the Browns after the first quarter in today’s AFC North Division game.
Baltimore running back Bernard Pierce rushed for a 12-yard touchdown and gave the Ravens a 14-0 lead over the Browns with one second remaining in the first quarter. Pierce took a pitch out from quarterback Joe Flacco on third-and-one, turned the corner around left tackle and tiptoed his way up the sideline before crossing the goal line.
Baltimore’s 12-play, 66-yard drive took 6:52 off the first-quarter clock. They held the ball for 12:17 in the first quarter.
Fellow running back Ray Rice opened the scoring with an eight-yard touchdown run that gave the Ravens a 7-0 lead over the Browns at the 8:37 mark of the first quarter.
Rice served as a catalyst on the 10-play, 70-yard drive that took 5:25 off the first-quarter clock. He ran for 32 yards and the touchdown on six carries, while Flacco completed all four of his pass attempts for 38 yards. Wide receiver Anquan Boldin caught three of Flacco’s passes and gained 30 yards.
