CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers played to a scoreless tie in the first quarter of play from Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Including today, there was no first quarter scoring in four of the Browns’ eight home games this year. The Browns won two of those first three contests — they defeated the Seattle Seahawks 6-3 on Oct. 23 and the Jacksonville Jaguars 14-10 on Nov. 20.
Cleveland’s only loss after playing a scoreless first quarter came against the Baltimore Ravens, when the team fell 24-10 on Dec. 4.
The Steelers hold a 5-0 advantage in first downs and a 62-16 edge in total yards. Pittsburgh owns the lead in time of possession, having held the ball for 10:56, as opposed to just 4:04 for the Browns.
The Steelers faced a second-and-five from the Browns’ 37-yard line at the start of the second quarter.
