Challenges at end of third
Posted by on October 24, 2010 – 7:23 pmNEW ORLEANS, LA—On third-and-six from the Browns’ 26-yard line, Saints quarterback Drew Brees connected with wide receiver Marques Colston for a four-yard gain.
Colston lost his grip on the football during the tackle and the Browns tried to challenge the ruling of it being fourth-and-two for the Saints, but after a several minute-long conversation with the officials, the ruling was not a reviewable play.
The Saints have now tried to challenge that the runner was down by contact.
If the play is not reviewed, the Browns will take a 20-3 lead into the fourth quarter in the Louisiana Superdome.
